What's New

A Closer Look Inside

(click icons for details)

Before vs. After

From Point A to B

Before

Varying layouts, confusing navigation, and a separate mobile version left the site feeling disconnected. These obstacles led to a frustrating experience that kept users from the core content. The site missed opportunities to showcase events and artwork, which are the lifeblood for art schools, and outdated content greatly
reduced the site's effectiveness. A major
facelift was due to re-position PCA&D
as a top art school.

After

We started by creating a simple, direct navigation system and refocused all the content and layout to emphasize the parts that are essential to driving admissions and involving the community. We also unified the desktop and mobile experiences with a modern design that further enforced the PCA&D brand. The new, fully-responsive site will assure maximum visibility on the web and help
PCA&D stay positioned as a top art
school for years to come.

The Development Process

A Ride Along With Our Team

1.

Project Kickoff

Step one, say hello to the new client! We take some time to get to know you as a company and as a brand to better understand your needs. Everyone on the team establishes their role in the project and we begin our master plan to get your project up and running.

2.

Brainstorming

It's time to put our thinking caps on. Whether it's in a group chat on Skype or in the conference room over a cup of tea, we like to get all our ideas out on the table. Getting together to share our ideas and solutions for your project is key in creating the best product for your needs.

3.

Site Planning

Once the brainstorm has passed, its time to get down to business. By looking through the current content and the project's needs, we devise a plan to organize your content and create the best experience for your users.

4.

Wireframing

The next step is to put our plans into action. Creating bare-bones sketches of how the site will be structured helps us to smooth out all the wrinkles and keep you in control of the layout before we even touch the design tools. These wireframes are free from any design or aesthetics to keep us focused on the overall site structure and key elements on each page.

5.

Design

With wireframes in hand, we begin to flesh out the look and feel of the site. Carrying over existing branding is very important to creating a unified brand, while adding on-trend nuances engages and delights users. We jump into Photoshop to create a snapshot of exactly what we want the site to look like.

6.

Slicing

Here is where the fun really begins. Using mockups as blueprints, we set to work coding HTML, CSS and jQuery to make your website come to life. These slices allow us to show how the layout will respond on different devices as well as show the user interactions and animations for the different elements of the site.

7.

Testing

Unfortunately, we live in a world where not all browsers were created equal. Once the slices are complete we begin testing our work in different browsers and on different devices to ensure that all users (no matter their browser preference) are guaranteed the same user experience. We also test our work against actual users to ensure our design is intuitive and straightforward.

8.

Content Integration

Once we have perfected the slices, we begin to add approved content into the site. This gives you time to decide which content is going to be carried over, and what needs to be revised.

Launch!

It's the moment we've all been waiting for! Here, we move your site from its development environment to its new home at your URL. Your site will now be usable by the public and ready to take on the World Wide Web.
